Reviews - Hope In A Slingshot
This documentary is a useful primer for anyone trying to understand the plight of Palestinians living under Israeli occupation in the West Bank. The more people who see this film, the better.

......excellent documentary. You were personal, courageous, at times reckless, and balanced. The film I believe would be educational and provide an insight to viewers of both the overt affects of the occupation and the more insidious which are clearly just as oppressive. ...... I am very impressed and think highly of the film and the film-maker. ...... Congratulations.

...... it was extremely impressive. ...... You got close to the action and came back with dramatic pictures, and they are sensitively deployed and narrated in the film. ...... In the multi-layered context you provide, we can indeed differentiate explanation from justification, and, in the current political context, there is no more important distinction. ...... (Hope In A Slingshot) is therefore a signal contribution to peaceful media representation of this conflict.

Actually yes, i like your film, exactly because it goes back to the very fundamental questions ( that so many of us have forgotten during these all years) ...... that makes it very different compared to so many others, so congratulations.

I LOVE IT! I think you did a fantastic job! ...... I think you address the issue of Israel-Palestina very well, easy to follow and understand.

Hope in a Slingshot is the best work I have seen on the Palestine-Israel issue. While keeping the big picture firmly in view, the film offers a rare insight into the lives and thoughts of ordinary people living under, and struggling to end, the military occupation. A compelling, fresh and unique perspective: watch it!

...... I think its very down to earth and the
fact that you come across as an ordinary person rather than an
expert narrator makes it a very watchable film.
...... also – and I don't know how you achieve this –
but that feeling for the soul of Palestinian people comes through,
there's something beautifull and absolutely charming about how they
speak, the sound of their speech ...... a good quality of the film
is that it does encourage people to ask "why is this happening"
and "it should be stopped".
Much respect to you.

The people are fascinating and I thought your edit was good and clear. You run a convincing argument. I can see why people are asking for a story - it's more a polemic than a story. But it is carried by the people that you met along the way. Love the women trying to get over the wall. Thought they had the makings of fine characters. Cheeky, reckless and unexpected. Anyhow, it was really compelling to me and slick (o mi god) so good looking. I do think that you have the cut of the film you set out to make. The historical map stuff itself was worth the price of admission!

Hope in a Slingshot is an important document of Israel's brutal occupation of Palestine, crimes committed with the full backing of the Western powers. Get angry and active and view up-close the reality of life for the millions of Palestinians who survive under the jack-boot of Israeli rule. These people deserve our solidarity and support.
